Ultima Online is a 2D isometric RPG MMO based on the Ultima series of role-playing single player. It is located on the same world as the Ultima series, Britannia and retains references to some recurring characters (Lord British, Lord Blackthorn).
Lord of Ultima is a 2D isometric game MMO strategy similar to the ‘settlers’ series. It derives from the Ultima games and has some references to the structure of the ‘Trinsic Temple’ and ‘Moonglow Tower’. It is completely unrelated to Ultima Online in terms of gameplay. Lord of Ultima is a new part of Ultima universe. The new land on which The Lord of Ultima resides is called Caledonia…arisen from the ocean after Sosaria was ripped from its place in time scattering shards of itself to form countless islands.
Now, only time will tell how Caledonia engages with the lands that arose when the gem of immortality was broken and spread as fragments.
