Below you will find a complete list of gameplay rules specific to Lord of Ultima. We would urge all players to read through these rules. If they are not adhered to, it may result in your account being banned, preventing further participation in Lord of Ultima.
Please remember that these are game specific rules which exist in addition to those already outlined in the Terms of Service and End User Access and License Agreement.

Holiday Substitution, Multi-Accounting, and Account Sharing

We allow

1. Shared use of a single internet connection and/or computer

You are allowed to play from the same connection or even the same computer as other players. There is no need to declare that multiple people will be participating using the same network or computer. However, we do not tolerate multi-accounting or account sharing in any way, shape or form.
For more information on these topics please refer to the “We do not allow” section below.

2. Holiday Substitution

Should you decide to go on holiday or know that you will not have access to Lord of Ultima for an extended period of time, it is possible to allow one of your friends to take limited control of your account while you are away. By going into the options menu, you can define a player who can log in to your account without needing to know your username and password. This player is known as your Holiday Substitute.

The following actions can be performed by your substitute:

• Raid dungeons and attack bosses
• Send support to your own cities and those belonging to other players
• Construct and demolish buildings
• Recruit units
• Found cities
• Purify resources
• Send resources to your own cities
• Appear in chat and send in-game mail using your character name

The following actions can only be performed by your substitute if you specifically select the option:

• Spend Funds
• Abandon cities

The following actions cannot be performed by your substitute:

• Your substitute cannot launch any sort of offensive action against another player with your account
• Send resources to other players
• Create and/or accept trade offers
• Manually restart your account

On any given World, you must have more active days (days where you have not used Holiday Substitution) than days where your account has been governed by a substitute. Should your account be subject to Holiday Substitution for a longer period than not, then your account may be suspended/banned.

We do not allow

1. Multi-Accounting

Each player in Lord of Ultima is permitted to have only one account, even when playing on multiple Worlds. Should you wish to play on a new World, you must use the same account that you have been using while playing on previous Worlds. Should a player be in control of two or more accounts (other than during a holiday substitution period) in Lord of Ultima, both accounts will be banned.
WARNING: Do not risk everything you have invested in this amazing game by playing unfair. It will catch up with you and could result in you losing everything!

2. Account Sharing

Multiple people using the same account is not allowed (other than through the holiday substitution functionality). Should you give your login details to a fellow player, we will not undo anything the aforementioned player may do or cause, including but not limited to:

• Suspension/Ban due to actions carried out by said player
• Funds being used
• Misrepresenting you in-game in e.g. the in-game forum, in-game chat, or in-game mail
• Abandoning cities
• Attacking friends and/or allies

Third Party Game Tools

There are a number of players and alliances coming up with some rather interesting game tools which some players find quite useful. We would urge you to exhibit the utmost caution when using these tools. Be aware that if they require your Session ID and you provide it, it is possible that the developer of the tool can take control of your game and do whatever s/he wishes with it. The same can be said for your username and password, although this is even more severe, it is possible for the person that created the tool to steal your EA account entirely. – Never give your account username and password to anyone! You are taking a massive risk should you do so and could lose access to everything tied to that account.

Use of external tools to present information, which can already be obtained in-game, in a different manner, is allowed with the following stipulations:

• The tool is only allowed to gather and present information that is also available through the official game client.
• The tool is allowed to make direct calls to the Lord of Ultima servers; however the server load created by the tool must be similar to the server load the official game client generates during typical gameplay.
• The tool is NOT allowed to initiate actions for the user.
• EA does NOT check whether a tool is harmful to the user. EA does not give any guarantee about functionality or possible security risks created through the use of tools.
• EA has the right to blacklist a tool. If a user is found to be using a tool after it has been officially blacklisted, EA can and will ban the users using this tool.

Reporting a suspected cheater

Should you come across a player who you believe to be cheating, you can report them. When reporting a player please include as much information as you can. Listed are a number of pieces of information which may be pertinent:

• Account name(s) involved
• Alliance(s) involved
• World(s) involved
• City(ies) involved (please use coordinates)
• Time and Date of the occurrence (including time zone)
• Screenshots of any pertinent information (e.g. in-game chat/mail and reports)
• What do you believe the person has done wrong?
• What advantage do you believe the person gained by doing this?
